"When we strengthen families, we ultimately, strengthen the community." T.B. Brazeleton MD (Brazelton, 2013). I have read Dr. Brazelton's work for years and am still enthralled with what he has to say and am so respectful of his devotion and work. This quote for me reminds me of how much I have grown in my understanding of early childhood development over the years. I am very proud of who I am constantly growing into. That I have grown from my original passion to protect and nurture into someone who is capable of making changes in people's lives so that they too can join in protecting, nurturing and advocating for the young. I have learned to embrace my passion and have learned how to make good use of my drive and knowledge.

That is a quote that's worth a million! That is so true, only when you can get to the level of that small child and look from his viewpoint, can you truly interpret his response to the great big world he has come to know. I like to sit on the floor and interact with the pre-k children and enjoy play with them as they discover. I love the amazed expressions on their faces when they see colors swirling in a bottle or a seed growing or a baby bird poping out from an egg. Those experiences are priceless!!
ReplyDelete"the moment I decided to follow instead of lead, I discovered the joys of becoming part of a small child's world." (Gonzalez, NAEYC)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this quote!!! I sometimes become isolated when I first start working somewhere, because I am so apt to become a leader in the workplace, but this is so true. When one stops following the "norm" and decides to lead, that's when change can occur.
